The positives:
- the staff at check-in was great. they helped us arrange transportation for that night and gave recommendations for the area we were going to.
- the rooftop restaurant had a beautiful view of the lake
- the included amenities were amazing
And, the negatives:
- we originally booked a king room but was assigned 2 queen. normally fine but we had told reservations in advance that we were traveling with a small child and needed a king. Instead we all had to squeeze into the queen to be sure he wouldn’t fall
- the fire alarm went off multiple times during our stay including once at 7am and 3 times in one day, creating a stressful experience especially with a small child
- the location. it’s right on the lake and closely between tremezzo and menaggio. on paper, this would be great but the hotel is along busy roads, Ubers are non-existent, taxis very limited.
- the concierge is unreliable unless you’re right in front of them. every time we booked transportation over the phone, we were never confident that a ride was really secured.
one night we got stuck in a downpour, waiting anxiously for our car and was trying to find a taxi, when the hotel car came unexpectedly.
before checkout, we booked a car to the train with guest experience. it wasn’t booked and we had to spend 290euro last minute to just barely make the train.
if you are staying on property all the time, it’s a nice hotel with great amenities. otherwise, it doesn’t live up to a luxury experience

Terrible service. For a 2,500 a night room. Everything should be perfect !!!! I can go on with the list but is endless. I can just say Terrible management and of course the general manager is not there on Sunday’s not even peak season sooo everything was a disaster.

We had a lovely stay at The Edition Lake Como. The property being brand new was a definite plus in terms of the setting. Restaurants on property were solid but definitely the best was Cetino. Staff support is very inconsistent, some were amazing like the front desk team and Vasi at the Pool! Seems like they are still figuring out communication and process in the early days of being open. I will say the hotel lacked a bit of the Italian charm that we typically look for when traveling in Italy, so would love to see that become more of a priority! Location was great not too hard to get to but also away from the typical tourism spots.

The pool lounger system is the one major flaw here, and it needs fixing. Guests go out around breakfast, leave belongings on loungers, and effectively reserve them for the entire day - often while the loungers sit empty for hours. At peak times, this creates long queues, and you can expect to wait 1-2+ hours for a lounger (even though many sit empty) simply because others are hoarding spots.
Management needs to enforce a clear time limit for unattended loungers and stop guests from “saving” chairs for friends or family who are not actually at the pool. The current setup is frustrating, unfair, and well below the standard of the rest of the hotel.
Pool service also needs improvement. Food was delivered to the wrong guests several times, and some of our orders were incorrect.
That said, we had an amazing stay overall. The rest of the property is excellent: restaurants and bars are lovely, the food and drinks are great, and the concierge, front desk, restaurant, and wider hotel staff were attentive, professional, and clearly experienced.
This is a beautiful hotel with excellent service in most areas, but the pool operation is a serious weak point and should be addressed.
