Property was amazing, exceeded our expectations. Absolutely gorgeous accommodation and property. Staff amazing and chef was fabulous. Will be returning again.

Outstanding accommodation and exceptional staff

Very unique place to stay with eco friendly qualities. Staff was wonderful. Breakfast was good. Glenorchy is a small township but so many places to explore.

Beautiful location. We found it nice to be outside the craziness and traffic of Queenstown.

Looking at the reviews for this property there seems to be two groups on opposite ends of the spectrum. Some love it and some hate it. Unfortunately I am in the latter group. The property is absorbently priced for what you get. Very poor value. The rooms are small there's just a small chair in the room in addition to the bed. The bed itself would not win any awards. There is no thermostat in the room and there was no way to control the heat. It was freezing in the room and even after asking the front desk two different times to have the room warmed up, nothing happened. They said it was floor heating but the flow was ice cold and it never changed. I can't remember the last time I stayed somewhere, where I didn't have control over the environment. The bathroom is a compost toilet - very unimpressed. The shower was time to a maximum of 8 minutes. Not necessarily a big deal for me because I don't spend more than that in there but I've never been anywhere that did that before. I'm glad that they want to be ecologically conscious but in my mind that means things like solar panels and reducing your cost and dependence on the system. We paid three times the average of what we paid per night on this 6 week trip. For me this was a big mistake. On the positive side the grounds are beautiful and the reception area and restaurant are very nicely decorated, and the staff was very friendly.

It’s my earth vision of heaven. I loved the peace and quiet that is hard to find these days. I had some of the best sleeps of my life there. The air is so clean. It was amazing to wake up in the morning briefing so light and easy, and without a headache. My melatonin working on its own. My body just feeling the nature and the energy of the place. One of the nights we saw the most beautiful sky. We stood out side for more than an hour looking the sky and its billions of stars. The entire area is unbelievable beautiful. The staff is amazing. The rooms have the most modern facilities. They have solar power. I wish I had it in my house now. It is another level. It was great to be in a place where they respect the nature. The most luxurious hotels in the world will not give you what you need: peace and love. Apart from that you can also enjoy the many sports activities that the area offers.

Wonderful ecolodge in beautiful setting. The staff and chef are wonderful and welcoming. We loved our visit.

I must admit that when my husband said "ecolodge" and "composting toilets" I was a little wary. From arrival we were blown away by the beauty of the property and friendliness of the staff. We were so impressed that we weren't even unpacked and we were discussing extending our stay. We dropped one of our planned stops on our trip to NZ just to stay here longer. Besides being beautifully designed everything is done with great ecological care. Those composting toilets that I was worried about were actually pretty cool and didn't seem much different than a standard toilet. Our cabin was absolutely charming and we were so appreciative of the snacks and drinks left for us. Loved sitting in the chairs on the porch as well. Breakfast was always delicious with so many choices. (Best scrambled eggs I've ever had and the chef graciously shared the secret with me when I asked what the ingredients were.) I also really enjoyed the morning yoga offered.
