More like a hostel and very outdated. Not the staffs fault. But this hotel should not be more tha $60. I paid $160

I’m leaving an honest review to help future travelers. I booked through a third-party site and clearly communicated multiple times that I would be arriving on an overnight flight. I called two days before, the day before, and the morning of my arrival, yet I received different information every time. I was first told I could check in after my overnight flight, then later informed my reservation had essentially been changed and that I’d have to wait until 4:00 PM or pay an additional fee for early check-in. After overcommunicating my plans, this was incredibly frustrating. The room itself was fine for a budget-friendly, short stay. My biggest issue was the customer service. When I raised concerns about the conflicting information, the front desk employee was rude, dismissive, and made me feel like the situation was somehow my fault instead of acknowledging the hotel’s inconsistent communication. The checkout interaction was also condescending rather than helpful. I also had to ask the airport shuttle driver to help with my two large suitcases instead of being offered assistance. I do want to recognize Expedia, whose customer service was excellent throughout this experience. Hotels that regularly serve travelers should have a clear process for handling overnight arrivals, especially when guests communicate their plans well in advance. Overall, the accommodations were acceptable, but the lack of communication, organization, and customer service would keep me from staying.

For the price and location near O'Hare, this become the perfect choice

Decent hotel for the night before an early flight. Would stay again!

The shuttle never came for us at the airport, we arrived at the hotel at 11:15 PM and we’re told our rooms were not yet ready. My room was dirty, greasy countertop and dirty microwave.

Buen hotel a un buen precio

Parking was $12.50 per day because it’s close to the airport. I guess that’s o good deal if you’re parking and flying out not O’Hare. I was commuting to work so $12.50 to park my car while I slept 25 feet away was not an amenity, it was extortion. I’ve stayed 4 months at the Sonesta in Libertyville and it’s fantastic. I booked this one by mistake and would have lost $105 to cancel and reschedule at Libertyville. If I had known about the parking, I would have. Upon check-in, the room had less than half bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. C’mon now! Fill those bad boys up between stays. You can afford it. Use the parking money! You have to request pots/pans despite the room claiming it has a “fully equipped” kitchen. When I took my dirty linens down for clean, they were out of dish towels. When I went back a second time they wouldn’t replace a dish towel without me providing a used one. Seriously?!?! Is dish towel theft that rampant??? So I dried off my plates and bowls and silverware with paper towels. C’est la vie. The coffee maker did not work the entire 9 days I was there. This is also listed as an amenity. It was just a complete let down after staying at the Sonesta in Libertyville. The airport Sonesta does have more television channels so I was able to watch The House of Dragon. Anyhow, it proves that not all hotels are created equal, but also proves that not all Sonesta Suites in the Chicagoland area are created equal.

Arrived around 9pm and had to wait until after 10 to get into a clean room.
