Great place, and a great breakfast!! Walkable to the heart of Lisbon, but also in a quieter area to relax after exploring all day. Will be back for sure!

Location was central

We had a 4 night stay in Portobay Marques, staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful re places to visit and restaurants to go to, we were not disappointed. We had a classic room from which the only window looked out onto interior open space so there was limited natural light, photos didn’t really show this so maybe something should highlight this in the description to help with choice. However the room was comfortable, clean and had a spacious bathroom. We had a lovely time, great location, breakfast was extra but excellent choice of cereals, pastries as well as a hot choice which set you up for a day of activities. The roof top pool was great to cool off in as well as a terrace bar.

Staff kindness

We arrived a day after our reservation and the front desk was ready for us. They (unsolicited) said that hey would not charge us for our missed night. They were helpful as was Francisco the manager on duty. At checkout we were charged for the missed night. Tiago - the manager said they could only honor the discount if we worked they Expedia. I did that and it was the hen Tiago who said no we couldn't have the credit. The issue - Tiago said one thing and then sleezily did another. Extremely dishonest. Why not just say no or escalate to someone who would be a tie breaker between the check in staff and the check out staff. Property manager as nice. Other than Tiago (clearly now an honest man or a man of his word) he staff was amazing - housekeeping, breakfast, the bar, and the front desk were all exceptional.

Great hotel in a central location that is quite and safe. Rooms were clean and breakfast was great. Highly recommended.

We loved this hotel. The location is very convenient for sightseeing in Lisbon and nearby cities. It’s right near Marquês de Pombal Square and Avenida da Liberdade. The Marques de Pombal Metro station on the Blue and Yellow lines is very close to the hotel. The Rossio and Cais do Sodré train stations are within walking distance. The neighborhood feels safe. The hotel itself is very clean with tasteful decor. We stayed in the Junior Suite. It’s spacious, with panoramic windows and a small balcony that open onto a quiet and pretty street. The suite has a separate area for tea and coffee that includes a sink, a kettle for boiling water and a microwave. The hotel has a pool, a steam room and a sauna which are included in the price and we really appreciated. Breakfast is good, we liked that it includes eggs over easy in addition to scrambled eggs, not just scrambled eggs like most other hotels do. Also really liked the rolls, croissants and pastries. They were all fresh and crispy. But above all we would like to commend the staff. They really go above and beyond for the customers. Would definitely stay here again.
