We had a wonderful stay - the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable, breakfast was amazing and much accommodation was made for my vegan daughter. The private Onsen was perfect - not only well maintained and efficiently run with many toiletries, but also blissfully relaxing. The whole stay was superb and it was a privilege to experience such an amazing Japanese tradition. Thank you

We absolutely enjoyed our stay!! The staff was so amazing and helpful, even when we were delayed on arrival. The private onsens were so relaxing and incredibly well-maintained given that they are outdoors! The traditional dinner was fun for our family and we really appreciated the small, relaxed atmosphere after arriving from the busy city. The traditional room was incredibly spacious and the tatami mats were actually quite comfortable and something our kids will remember forever. Highly recommended!

Honestly it didn’t look nice from the outside. The inside is okay. Noise travels easily. Not worth the money.

This was our first time staying in a Ryokan and it was fabulous. The staff were very helpful and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff reached out to us prior to our arrival to plan for dinner and private onsen that evening. The onsen's were very nice and the amenities were good. Dinner was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. Breakfast was also very good. The rooms were spacious a clean. They are also very family friendly and the location is convenient. I would recommend this place to people visiting Hakone for the first time. You won't be disappointed.

The staff was very accommodating ! Check in was smooth the staff spoke a bit of English to help us through our stay. Dinner was phenomenal, breakfast the next morning was great as well. The Onsen Experience was great with the privacy and very relaxing.

We loved our night at the ryokan. The staff were friendly and attentive. We enjoyed dressing in a yukata for dinner and using the private onsen. Dinner and breakfast was amazing. Thank you 🙏

Pros: We had 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners while staying. We mostly had the Japanese omakase, which were lovely and delicious. Both dinners had a cooking option - 1 hotpot and 1 grilling. There were 3 options of private onsen for 2 50-minute slots/day, and if there were openings, you could sign up for an additional. We appreciated we could go as a family together. The outdoor spaces were perfect. It was fun wearing the yukata, and they gave our kid a sweet little welcome package. Cons: The onsens didn't have any options for cold plunge - the closest were low pressure cold shower. The 1 onsen with the sauna closet option was turned off between sessions so even though we turned it on when we got there, it didn't really get warm enough to be a sauna by the time the 50 min were over. In our room, the beds were laid out on the tatami when we arrived, but we had expected fold up / turn down service, which we didn't get at any point during our 2 night stay, even when we left our room key for the day. Note that while there are options walking distance away, the roads are twisty and have hedges, and cars seem to be prevalent so it was safer for us to get taxis in the end, esp when raining. Overall, it was pleasant and a good option if you don't have much time in Japan to experience these things. For us, it ended up being pretty expensive for what it was, considering we'd had other omakase, onsen, and stayed in tatami mat rooms elsewhere during our trip for much much cheaper.

Onsen was nice

This accommodation represented what my family, as US citizens, think of regarding a relaxing, traditional Japanese dining and lodging experience. There is much to praise about this property; the food, the room, the onsen, etc. We felt like special guests here as the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The train ride up to the property was breath taking. This was a perfect one-night stay.

The whole experience was awesome. Love their traditional dinner and breakfast. Friendly staff.
