The initial room we were allocated was downstairs and very musty, but the hotel manager moved us up to the third floor and the room was great. Not a big room, as expected in Japan, but more than adequate for our two night stay. Was a bit hard to find initially, but location was great in the Gion area for eating, bars overlooking the river, sightseeing and easy access to the trains (including the local train to Osaka at a significantly lower price than the Bullet train). Well worth the stay for the location alone!

This was a great location and beautiful place! The only thing worth mentioning is the under whelming breakfast with cold tempura, especially for the price. I would skip the breakfast option and go with something else. Everything else was great!!

This hotel was in a fantastic location, close to the shops, restaurants and wards. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was great to come back to after a long day of walking. The staff was friendly and housekeeping was diligent in making sure one had fresh towels everyday. We would definitely stay here if in the area again.

Good stay

Small rooms, bed was very soft, not my taste. Blanket was very tick like for -40 degrees but it’s warm even in the mid May. If you keep the AC off it’s hot, if you keep it on , it’s cold and you need blanket but that blanket was making you hot again. 😂😂 crazy.

Clean room right in Gion. Tons of food options within 10-15 minutes. Had their breakfast and was very good.

We loved this hotel. Location was absolutely perfect, staff accommodating and spoke English well, the best shower I have ever taken. Just adored the hotel.
