最高 It is a classic hotel but the annex building is fully renovated and beautiful. The room was comfortable with nice amenities. It was so calm and peaceful. I loved the tea set they provided and enjoyed the room overlooking the garden outside. Had very comfortable beds. Staff was nice and welcoming. Breakfast was nice too. The only downside was lack of dinner options in the area. We did a room service one night and had their famous curry… which was alright but expensive. We also had a meal at Meiji no Yakata nearby which was great. I think most restaurants were closed for dinner on weekdays though. There was a really good yuba place for lunch closed to the hotel.

The hotel was build Meiji era so it has a unique character and a charm to it. However, it does not provide a modern convenience. It sets on the top of steep hill so you need to be prepared for some leg work if you don’t have a form of motor transportation.

The rooms were very large but needs a refresh with carpets and paint. Location was exceptional- walking to Toshogu shrine and the Shinkyo bridge. Had to walk up and down a huge hill to get to the hotel but the views were incredible. A bit far from the station and their shuttle was not reliable enough to count on to get to the station on an early timetable. Breakfast was classically served and delicious but the same every morning. There was no onsite onsen which would have been perfect given it is a historic hotel.

Great location. Property could use a refresh and better amenities - gym, buffet breakfast or more a la carte options (too limited as a vegetarian).
