Lovely breakfast… for an additional £22

A wonderful building, beautifully renovated with very welcoming staff where nothing was too much trouble.

Staff were so lovely, from check in, bar staff and at check out. A credit to the hotel to have such lovely staff! The room was spotlessly clean, and had everything that we needed, however, windows were tiny and not able to be opened. So slightly disappointing. Overall a good stay, and would d definately return ☺️

Amazing hotel with the best staff possible. Aircon worked well on a very hot day. Superb room & very well furnished. Reception, bar and breakfast staff brilliant. Breakfast excellent & cooked to order. Fabulous historic building with a "feel free to roam" approach from the friendly, professional staff.

A hotel I like and revisit regularly whilst local for business but on my last visit they took the breakfast to order items off the availability list... leaving a reduced range of buffet items. I was told this was because they needed to cater for a large group. This is a shame as it sends a message that the group bookings are more important than your average guest and discourages return visits.

Room was very comfortable and clean enjoyed our stay for 2 nights, though I thought I had booked breakfast which I had not (22.50 each) walked down to the blue bell inn (2 min across the grass great food would recommend) 15 min drive into the town centre, would recommend.

The superior room was not at all like the pictures and instead it was a frankly unpleasant windowless room in the roof of the building. The standard room was nicer and if I had known what the superior room was like I absolutely would not have booked it. The building and grounds and the property are lovely and the restaurant and food was great. The staff in the restaurant seemed disorganised at both dinner and breakfast which was surprising and slightly spoiled the experience - it was difficult for example to get a cup of coffee at breakfast without chasing someone.

We could not fault a single thing. Everything about Stanbrook Abbey Hotel is nothing short of excellent
