Hotel was excellent with very attentive service, very good for English speaking, non-Japanese. Location is one metro stop from Kyoto station, which made travel using the Shinkansen very easy. We like to walk around so many sights were within a few miles or just jump on the metro to get around town. Hotel had impeccable cleanliness. It is not a typical high end US the spaces were not as big as your standard four seasons or Fairmont. But you get a lot of Japanese character and a thoughtful experience. Thank you Hotel Kanra!!

The hotel is in a really great location. Staff were kind and helpful. It would be nice to have a gym.

The staff was very helpful and did their very best to help us. The rooms were spacious but a lot of noise comes from the busy street. We requested a room change and the staff was very accommodating.

Excellent stay in Kyoto. The hotel is spotless. The staff are wonderful and helped with subway information etc. The room was perfect for our family of 4 (2A and 2C 8yrs and 12yrs). We had 2 double beds plus 2 futons. Bathroom is huge with the deep bath and separate shower. The toilet is also separate. The free drinks and crackers in reception are a lovely treat - coffee, tea, juice, beer, wine, sake and iced water. 711 is a couple of doors down, great ramen across the street and the best donut shop across the street as well. The subway station is also across the street - one stop to Kyoto main station and a couple of stops in the other direction for downtown/CBD area. Highly recommend.

Very quiet and chic hotel. Close to Kyoto Station and city attractions.

The hotel has a minimalist and relaxing interior design. The breakfast was abundant and the staff cheerfully welcomed us every day. What stood out was the reception that helped me set an appointment with an international clinic for my stomach pain. Thank you, Kanra reception ! 🙏

Very well maintained hotel. Staffs were amazing. Breakfast was awesome.

We arrived at the hotel late in the evening, but the staff were so welcoming and pleasant to us. That set the tone for our whole stay - the staff was always helpful and accommodating, our room was spacious and clean, and all the little amenities (toiletries, yukata, drinks, and snacks) were wonderful. I’d love to come back there if we return to Kyoto.

Lovely small(ish) hotel. It is stylish very comfortable and has a real boutique feel. Location is good too - easy stroll to train station and underground station. A bit longer but pleasant walk to main shopping areas (market, Pontocho and Gion). Amenities could be a little better but highly recommend as a base for visit to Kyoto.
