Absolutely love this hotel! Small rooms but a great atmosphere and phenomenal service.

Charming hotel with a lovely, eclectic bar … an absolute must to visit and have a drink!

One of my favorite hotel in NYC. Perfect location for the train, walking distance to a lot of neighborhoods and amazing restaurants.

The Marlton Hotel seems to position itself as an elevated boutique hotel, but my experience felt far more style-over-substance—and even the style did not make up for the complete lack of comfort, convenience, or service. From the moment I arrived, the experience was frustrating. There was no one outside to assist with luggage, so I was left trying to cross the street, maneuver through the crowded dining area, climb the entrance steps, and pull open a heavy door while dragging my bags behind me. At this The room was shockingly small, even by New York standards. I would have booked a larger category, but this was the only option available, and it was not cheap. The minibar and closet appeared to have been added as an afterthought, hidden behind a dirty, ill-fitting curtain. The bed was uncomfortable. The worst part was the bathroom. The shower was essentially part of the bathroom floor, with a curtain that did not cover the opening properly. The drain did not work, and while I was washing my hair, the entire bathroom flooded with standing water up to my calves. It was disgusting. When I called the front desk, they offered to send maintenance but said there were no other rooms available. If a hotel is sold out, it should be even more important to ensure rooms are functional before guests arrive.

Pros: Really cute hotel with interesting history. Retro charm. Great location. Nice breakfast included with stay. Cons: Lobby HVAC couldn’t keep up with the heat wave. Limited non-restaurant lobby seating - not ideal given the room size. No water available in lobby. Lowest quality, scratchiest TP I’ve used in decades. Very small rooms but not atypical for NYC.

I stayed at the Marlton for five nights with a few friends. The hotel is old world gorgeous and the staff are absolutely fantastic. The only issues I had were with the restaurant. Our stay "came with breakfast" but that was a very limited selection and the prices were extremely high for any a la carte items,, even by NYC standards. If basic yogurt or oatmeal will get you by, you'll do great. If not, wander nearby for some great breakfast joints. I would not hesitate to stay there again.
