The area is quiet, so if you are tired and need a silence place to rest, here is a good choice. But if you are a tourist, It will be not so convenient. The cleanliness is good(not easy to find a room without smoke smell in China, especially not very hight class hotel). The service here is good and friendly. Good for business stay.

Very hard to find the food around the hotel and in the hotel.

Friendly staff, quiet at night. Food was excellent and very clean.

Holiday Inn Express is what it is - a budget hotel. Room rate is reasonable for Shanghai. Staff speak limited English, but the front desk did their best and was quite helpful indeed. I stayed two nights arriving very late and leaving really early so the 1/2 hour drive from/to the airport was the reason I picked this hotel. Would I stay there again? Yes, for a short visit if I need to be reasonably close to the airport.

It was a business trip. I had a last minute change and other hotels were more expensive so I booked this one, since I didn't have to stay long at the hotel.

Asked for an extra roll out bed which they have listed, but they didn't offer one.

You could smell the smoke coming in from the other rooms even though the rooms that we stayed in were all non smoking. The front desk people were friendly but the breakfast staff weren't always very nice and would roll their eyes or be upset if we asked for anything.

Rooms were clean and modern,and the bed, shower all good. But very noisy- truck depot across the street and noise all night even with window closed. Also, there is some automatic verbal announcement perhaps for sight impaired people in the cross walk, but it repeats every time the traffic light changes and can be heard in the room even though I was on a high floor. This was remarkably annoying. Location is not good- there is nothing nearby to eat, drink or see. The restaurant in the hotel closes pretty early, so eat before you arrive if coming in late. Also it is about $80 USD car fare from PVG airport, or $55 for a taxi..

The hotel was nice for a short or business trip, rooms are big and clean and have just the essentials for a short stay. My mistake was underestimating how big Shanghai is, as all I wanted was a hotel near the airport which this is not, although it says it's in Pudong area. PUDONG IS HUGE. The hotel is not close to anything really, execept a metro station from where you can go places but it'll take you at least an hour to get to Shanghai downtown area and half an hour to the airport. other than location, my experience was good.

The price is quite reasonable, and breakfast is also okay for me
