Conveniently located. Helpful staff. Room was clean. It’s right next to a couple bars but they closed early so noise was not an issue.

The rooms were very clean.
The staff was very helpful and friendly, and eager to respond when I had a question. They have a 24/7 chat as well, which is very nice.
They gave suggestions of what to do in the city and even some local favorites. The location of the hotel is in the heart of Gaslamp Quarter.
Balboa Park, Old Town, Coronado Island, are all within 10 minutes drive!

We had a lovely and extremely affordable two-night stay here! The location is unbeatable and within walking distance of everything downtown. The parking garage just a block away was convenient. The building itself is full of fascinating history, and we loved learning about its past through the timeline on the ground floor. We’ve been back at home for days, but we’re still talking about the history of the Keating Hotel. Makes for a crazy story to tell when you get home!
Our room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was AMAZING. It's clear the new owners are thoughtfully updating the property while preserving its historic character. There is some visible wear and tear, but for the price, it was absolutely worth it.
The staff was incredibly kind and even took our bags up for us while we explored the city. We felt safe overall, especially with the deadbolt on the room door. Our door code was a little too predictable for my liking, however.
Most of all, we enjoyed supporting a small business with owners who clearly care about preserving this unique piece of San Diego history. The hotel has so much potential, and we're excited to see what they do with it. We'd definitely stay again!
