Very clean nice location nice rooms

Perfect location in one of the most safe neighborhood near Copacabana Staff is amazing

Good location and a staff that was, for the most part, friendly, professional, and attentive. Special thanks to Maria da Saúde and Rosângela from Housekeeping for taking such great care of our room, and to Renata at the Front Desk for her kindness, professionalism, and outstanding customer service. Unfortunately, our experience with Veronica, who appeared to be the Front Desk supervisor, was the complete opposite. From the moment we arrived, she barely acknowledged us, avoided even basic eye contact, and came across as dismissive and arrogant. Her attitude was not what we expected from a luxury hotel. We paid almost US$500 for an extra night simply to keep a room until the evening before our flight. Even then, after a nine-night stay, we were told we had to change rooms because ours was needed for another guest. It wasn’t the room change itself that was disappointing, but the complete lack of flexibility and consideration from management. Room 1234, especially the bathroom, is also in need of renovation and does not reflect the standards of a luxury hotel. While the staff made every effort to provide excellent service, the management’s handling of our stay fell well below the level of hospitality expected from the Fairmont brand.

I have stayed here many times. I have had issues with the cleanliness of the room twice. The bed sheets smelled like sweat, I had to put a towel over the sheets just to sleep. In addition to the smell of sweat, the bed sheets were also humid with a wet sensation to them. The bathroom also had that same smell of sweat.

I booked a ocean view room but when I arrived the hotel staff provide me a handicap room on the third floor with no view to the ocean; I complained and the changed me to another room on the same floor with view to the bar and pool ... I had complained and finally got the room I paid for. Also, every single morning out of the 5 days the maintenance crew was banging and using electrical tools - I complained but no solution was offered. The area where they serve breakfast was under maintenance also and the noice was strong - I complained but the lady on charge of the staff told me that they can not do anything because they cannot stop the maintenance ... this was at 10:00am ... the time for breakfast was until 10:30am ... they couldn't wait to start the maintenance until breakfast time was over .... I regret choosing that 500 dollars night hotel just to have issues with not providing me the correct room and all the noice for maintenance ....

Amazing hotel. Great location, awesome amenities and service. Gold lounge is worth the upgrade. Highly recommend.

The hotel was lovely! Clean rooms, friendly staff and the gym was well equipped! Perfect Location. The service in the restaurant was a bit slow but overall a great experience. Will definitely book again.

We loved our stay at the Fairmont. We had a family suite which was perfect for a family of five. We also had the gold package which included access to the lounge. There was often food and drinks in there that was included in our package. This was a big help having kids and always having somewhere to go for food. The staff was incredibly helpful. The rooms were clean. They had access to the beach already set up, which made it very easy. I would highly recommend staying at the Fairmont if you’re bringing your family to Rio.
