The staff and the restaurant are great. The ambience is always good and the quirkiness of the former prison is fun to stay in.
On the negative side, the room has not a single hook or hanger for a towel, the towels are too small and the toilet paper seems like genuine prison standard

少しがっかり Staff not very helpful, I asked for extra pillows and a duvet at reception, never arrived to my room. The window next to the bed has not properly sealed air comes in to the room. I could felt the air coming directly to my face while sleeping even though I had the blind down.
Also I had go and request cleaning my room as it was not cleaned, I has the room cleaning tag hanging at the handle door.

Reception staff were helpful.
This is a converted prison and so quirkily interesting.
The bed was fine and the room was spacious.
However I couldn’t find any light switches other than at the door. Only way to turn off the lights was to remove the card key from its slot.
Sink only had cold water so impossible to shave.

heb afgesproken met vrienden voor eten en drinken in Alkmaar en woon zelf ver weg. Dus 1 nacht verbleven. Dat is prima gegaan. Leuk is dat je nog duidelijk sporen ziet van de vorige bestemming van het gebouw. (Gevangenis) Alkmaar is trouwens ook wel een mooie stad om te bezoeken met traditionele panden en grachtjes.
