Lovely big room, great view.

If you want to be out of the hustle and bustle of downtown (10 minutes to the CBD) and enjoy a lovely territorial view, this is the place to stay when visiting New Plymouth. We stayed here for two nights and enjoyed our spacious room and quiet surroundings ... you might hear a cow occasionally 'mooing' but that's part of the country side ambiance of One Burgess Hill.

Grounds are immaculate. Great view of the bush/river. Comfy bed. Good water pressure. Manager was fantastic. Good location (7 mins from New Plymouth by car). Quiet, safe. Can bike safely to New Plymouth ( sidewalk to round about on state highway 3 then side street with on road cycle path). Restaurant with yummy food on site. Things that could be better: Had only one BBQ so you need to reserve it in advance. Great stay and definitely a place I would go back.

The receptionist was welcoming and made us feel at home immediately. The gardens and facilities were well maintained. The room was clean and beds comfortable and the view was pretty and peaceful with birds.

Stunning location , clean , tidy , accessible , friendly staff

The room was large, clean and well-appointed. We really loved that you could see and hear the river from the top bedroom. The environment is relaxing and I enjoyed the walk along the river and around the grounds. The restaurant had a great atmosphere and the meals were nice. The staff were friendly and attentive. The location was a short drive to town but far enough to be away from the hustle and bustle. Our only minor gripe was the driveway was narrow and difficult to see vehicles coming the other way. This made for a couple of near misses due to other drivers going too fast. The washer and dryer in the laundry need updating.
