京乃宿 加ぎ平 (Ryokan Kyo-no-yado Kagihei)

Stayed here one night to get a Ryokan experience. The owners are extensive and helpful. Our room was bit jaded but was very convenient. Overall property is very conveniently located but could use some upgrade. We didn’t use the onsen but they did have a public bath.

The owners were so lovely and allowed us to store our luggage when we arrived early, as well as after checkout. The breakfast each day was delicious and different than anything we've ever had before, so we felt lucky to experience a traditional Japanese Ryokan breakfast. We really appreciated the tea each day and the beds were so comfortable. It was especially hot outside and we were so grateful for the good air conditioning in the room. I would recommend anyone to stay here.

Excellent location very near the Nishiki market. Well appointed rooms in traditional Japanese Ryokan fashion. Rooms have en suite toilets and showers. There is a lift for the higher floors. Lovely owner couple. Lovely traditional Japanese breakfast.

Nice Japanese breakfast. Variety of selections offered changed from day to day. Owner was very on top of the whole operation from check in to welcoming and seating is for breakfast. All staff were welcoming and friendly. Room was clean.

The inn owners are some of the best people you will ever meet!! They're so kind and caring, and I consider them friends for life now. The rooms are so cozy and this property is located right at Nishiki Market, just down the street from historic Gion. Out of all of the ryokons that I stayed at during my trip to Japan, this one (Room Momoyama) had the most comfortable futons and the most homely feel. You really feel like you're staying at someone's home while you're there. The woman who runs this ryokan is so sweet and grandmotherly, and her husband is a fantastic guy. If you want the best place to wind down for the day after navigating Kyoto's chaos, this is the place to go!

The Ryokan was located in a prime area and was very spacious for a Japanese standard. Every day, they provided bottled water and bottled ocha drinks, which were very helpful. We will definitely stay again if we visit Kyoto again.

Lovely hosts. Cozy and well maintained room. Near nishiki market, but place was still quiet and peaceful.

We had the best experience of traditional Japanese accommodations! The onsen is the best! And the breakfast was amazing as well! We would come back next time!
