So the Harper was clean and pretty and luxuriously outfitted. An A-Class facility. The staff was friendly and attentive. They have a private car for trips to the airport that is very affordable. The breakfast buffet was amazing, a huge variety of local and foreign choices that will appeal to anyone staying there. However, when you've been traveling 30+ hours through 3 major airports, all you want when you finally get to your hotel is a HOT bath and a soft bed. The room was clean and cool, the bathroom adequate and the bed soft and cozy...but the shower was only COLD. I let the water run for minutes and it never warmed up, not even luke warm. What a huge disappointment. I didn't complain, I just took a cold shower and went to bed. "A" for effort Harper-Perintis but you missed the mark. If I ever get back through Makassar, I'll try somewhere else.

This was about a 1.5 star hotel. It was quite dated. The staff is quite nice though. I would stay here again if in a tight situation.

We spent a long airport layover at this hotel, so that we could relax and rest. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable, although we did find the shower floor to be quite slippery when wet. The meal we had in the restaurant was good and everything was very fresh. Our only disappointment was that the massage treatments I had scheduled via a chat on the hotel website, during which I was assured our appointment was confirmed, were not in fact scheduled and no one was even available in the spa area. We would definitely stay here again, especially in the case of an early flight, since the proximity to the airport is very good.

Very comfortable stay. The bed was nice, wifi worked well and room got cool enough for me and I like cold rooms. The service provided by the staff is amazing. The massage was great. The only small thing was breakfast was just okay. I did not eat any other meals.

Stayed over New Years and was given free entrance to their gala celebration including a free banquet and entertainment. All staff were exceptionally friendly and made us fell very welcome. That is the most important quality I like for in a hotel. -Susanne

Food in the restaurant was not tasty and the staff service was great.

Property shows heavy sign of wear and tear compared to the crisp clean photos on the website and our a/c was broken and needed to be fixed. They responded quickly to the A/C breaking and the staff was nice. The unit could have used a deep cleaning as there were scuffs and dark marks on walls, baseboards and floor. It was an adequate place to stay before my Raja Ampat cruise and the included breakfast was good
