Gorgeous hotel, conveniently located, attentive staff, plentiful breakfast with many options. Worth every penny!

One of the finest hotel experiences we have had! The staff was well trained and very accommodating to our request. Even though this was a Marriott Bonvoy property, we don't get this kind of service at Marriott properties in the states anymore. It just doesn't exist. We plan on coming back and using the hotel again.

The king bed room was very spacious with a nicely decorated bathroom. The cleaning staff were brilliant with our room cleaned and an afternoon turn down service. The front service staff were polite and friendly. We also enjoyed the cocktails that we had.

The staff was very attentive and the room was beautiful.

Overall, we had a great experience with just one minor issue. To start with the positives: the hotel was clean, in a prime location very close to Museo del Prado, and the breakfast was excellent. As for the minor issue, we asked the front desk if we could borrow some clean silverware for dinner (we had to get takeout since all restaurants were fully booked due to Good Friday), but it was never delivered to our room. As a result, we ended up cutting a grilled octopus with a coffee spoon and eating our Good Friday dinner by hands...

Many things in the hotel needs renovation, the staff in the lobby doesn’t speak English well, and the service is very slow. The elevator is very scary and the rooms are not isolated well.

It’s a beautiful property but so outdated. I felt that most of the staff was completely “checked out” - pun intended. I had a simple request that I asked the concierge 3 nights in a row and not one time was it ever handled. I really just don’t get it. Half of the time our room was fully serviced and the other half not. Coffees not replenished, etc. Breakfast was probably the worst food I have ever had. The server could not understand our words for bread or toast, even when we used Spanish and made no attempt to ask for assistance or clarification. Just pretended the order was never made I guess. Baffling.
