Given how "old timey" the property is, I was impressed with how clean the rooms/bathrooms were. Even so, be warned, the entire property reeks of smoke, from the Casino all the way down the hallways even to the back rooms. Once inside my room, I did not smell smoke, however. Younger generations have probably never seen a place like this and may not even know who Marilyn Monroe is, as much as her picture adorns the lobby and other parts of the property,

Great place to stay

We were on the first floor which was good bc there was no elevator however the cigarette smell from the casino permeated everything. It bothered me a lot. It was better after we left the ac fan on continuously. The room was clean. Clean towels each day. Staff was nice.

Great stay!

Fun and unique hotel. Food is very good. A good selection of slots to play. We have stayed at the Prospector many times and have always been pleased

Decor was beautiful. Everything worked well. Bed was a little hard. Wished they had an elevator, but all in all it was great.

It was an old rustic look. Every thing seem well taken care of. It was a good resting spot for a long trip across country.

poor maintenance and dirty

Upside: Great outdoor space for dogs! The rooms have either been nicely maintained or nicely upgraded! Downside: Casino allows smoking and you're exposed to the smell even just going to the restaurant. I mean...come on - in this day and age? Still? Cigarettes and cigarette smoke are nasty!
