The hotel has a modern lodge feel and the staff were so kind and helpful. The PeakFine restaurant was simply delicious and the staff were so attentive. We had the panoramic family room with an amazing view of the Matterhorn! This was the highlight of our trip to Switzerland. I definitely highly recommend this hotel and would come back in the future.

The Alpen Resort and Spa is such a great hidden gem! It’s not on any main strip in Zermatt which was great—it’s quiet and peaceful.
Staff: Friendly and helpful from check-in to check out. The included shuttle pickup/drop off at the train station is a nice touch.
Room: We had the family panorama room with Matterhorn view (note when reserving: mountain view is not necessarily Matterhorn view. Read the room descriptions carefully before booking. The room was very clean and well equipped.
Spa/Pool: We absolutely loved the spa and pool. We used it every chance we could get. The teenagers enjoyed it as well. It’s better than the pictures on the website. There were hardly any guests using this area—we had it virtually to ourselves 90% of the time. Note: Access to the spa is included with your stay (as of June 2026)
Food: Breakfast is from 7-11am. The breakfast buffet was included with our stay as well (as of June 2026). It was a well stocked breakfast buffet and you can order an omelet off of their menu. The omelet option is also included.
“The Dude” restaurant has huge portions and nice selection. The pricing was slightly lower than comparable places.
TLDR: Great stay and great value considering the included amenities!

This hotel was really nice, legitimate four star, really cool authentic Zermatt theme. Definitely worth the money., We would definitely stay there again
