Yes, it was a heat wave when I stayed there, but the room was like an oven. Only a small opening for the window with the Sun beating on it all day! They should have kept the curtains closed, by the time I checked in at 4 pm the room was unbearable with only a small fan moving the hot air around the room. I was unable to sleep. Also, the TV didn’t work just pixelating I don’t know if it was the fan interfering with it.. also the Internet is not secure - definitely not a four-star Hotel. Saying that with staff were lovely and it was a great breakfast

The absence of air conditioning and the fact that bedroom windows only had one small top window that could be opened meant that we experienced an extremely hot and uncomfortable night. This hotel property appears to be undergoing some refurbishment but unless it is going to install air conditioning, during hot weather it will not make the best of its superb position close to the centre of town

We loved this hotel. Great location away from the busy city centre but still had restaurants nearby. We stayed in Oxford for the British Grand Prix weekend and did not have a lot of time to explore Oxford but really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. Staff were wonderful and so friendly. I wish I had gotten the name of the sweet front desk lady because she always remembered mine and cheerfully greeted me whenever we returned from our busy day out. I have to give Josh a shout out who very early one morning provided me with a tray of coffee to take to my room since my fiancé and I decided to skip breakfast to get an early start to Silverstone. Very kind of him and he even offered to carry it upstairs to our room, although I declined as I didn’t want to put him out too much. Our room was the Trinity deluxe room. It was huge! I loved being able to open the windows for a cool breeze. Even with the windows open there was very little street noise. The amenities were wonderful. I always love having a robe and slippers provided. There was a small fridge in the room and an oscillating fan which was definitely needed since our stay was during a particularly warm summer weekend. The breakfast buffet seemed a little overpriced so for our last three mornings we went across Banbury Rd to a delicious little bakery called Barefoot for the best fresh cinnamon rolls and coffees. For lunch/dinner, The Rose and Crown pub on the same alleyway. We had Sunday roast at the lodge and loved it! 5 stars! :)

Beautiful properly and excellent staff. Everything we were hoping for in our first visit to Oxford. Only challenge was we came during a heatwave and the hotel does not have AC. Staff tried to help with fans but it was simply too hot.

Beautiful location and amenities, fabulous location.

Our deluxe king was perfect for us! It provided a generous amount of room, had a very comfortable bed and our bathroom had the best large tub. The room was beautifully decorated and the staff catered to our every need. The breakfast was quite tasty and our dinner was amazing. Our stay from June 7-10, 2026 was not nearly long enough to see all that Oxford University had to offer, so we will be returning in the future.

Comfortable king bed. Good breakfast including continental buffet and hot brekkie. No a/c or ceiling fan, but there was a table fan. The stay was fine, but for the money, we will stay in a more modern hotel next time.

we really enjoyed our stay here - very helpful staff, great location and plenty of space in our room. very quiet and would certainly stay here again. food was delicious as well.

The staff was amazing. Beds are comfortable, bathroom is great. Food is amazing. Definetly worth.

It’s a historic building, so there is some noise from the floors and the soundproofing isn’t great, but the breakfast is excellent, and the staff are friendly and the place is clean.
