We wanted an "old English Inn" feel and we got it! A 500 yr old pub/inn that was authentic and clean w updated bath w lots of hot water and great water pressure right in the hub of Eton. But..teeny tiny and stairs that were BEYOND unsafe to walk up and down without holding onto walls and what minimalistic railings were there with both hands. Forget about carrying up your bags if you have larger luggage. All rooms are on 2nd/3rd or 4th floors which were all carpeted but uneven feeling underneath to the point where you could easily roll an ankle just walking. The cook and waitress were friendly and food was hot and plentiful. Be advised breakfast is served for 1hr on weekends and 1-1/2 hrs during the week. We would stay again, but wish I was better prepared for the flights of stairs. Really unsafe!

Brilliant! Would return. Had a great sleep on Friday night. Helpful staff, free parking on site, brilliant location and a heaps of character. Also very cheap so fantastic value!!

This place has so much charm and character. The staff was helpful, friendly and accommodating. Walking distance to the river walk and the castle.

This was our fifth stay at the crown and cushion, It appealed to us because it is a very old pub with parking, staff are always very helpful and knowledgable, it’s a short walk into Windsor, with Windsor Castle to visit, also walks or boat trips along the Thames and walks in the Windsor great park. You can also drive or take public transport to Hampton Court Palace or drive to Hever Castle ( home of Ann Boleyn).

Lovely place to stay. Staff where lovely and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Definitely return

Wonderful quirky 500 year old pub at Eton, literally a stones throw from Windsor Castle and environs, so an easy walk to everything. Great to have parking and the breakfast included was lovely. Very friendly staff behind the bar. Special feeling staying in a historic pub with its own character. Don't worry about the planes going overhead as they have a curfew in the evenings!!

Friendly and close to all of the things we wanted to do

500 year old traditional English pub inn5 minutes walk to castle and 2minutes to Thames , great character , nice beer garden and breakfast

Very close to Windsor Castle and the shopping centre. Rooms were small and inaccessible to anyone with physical disabilities. We stayed on a Sunday and the bar closed at 8pm which is very early. Breakfast was adequate. Staff were were wonderful. Very helpful and welcoming.
