I enjoyed how big the rooms were.

My friend and I had a wonderful stay. Clean and comfortable, with friendly and helpful staff. We liked the homey feel so much better than a huge resort hotel. Air conditioning was great and I loved the refrigerator at chest level instead of on the floor, ( at least in our room which was in the house across the street.) Parking next to the house and walking distance to the beach was also a plus. Would highly recommend Arnott’s Lodge!

served put needs. dishes were dirty and we couldn't get the ceiling fan to work, but what we expected for the area and cost.

I booked Arnott's in part because one of the Mauna Loa tours (which was awesome) departed from there directly. I enjoyed the place, as it had everything I needed and was in a convenient location.

Stayed in the “dorm style” room. The common kitchen and living area was well stocked. There were dishes, different cooking implements, microwave, pots and pans in the kitchen. Each private room has a small fridge and a private bathroom. The AC was cold. When I stayed, I think there was only one other person in the dorm but I only heard them when they came in. I could not hear them in their room. My room had a glass slider to the grassy yard in front. Siobhan (front desk clerk) was friendly and communicated through messages about check-in before my stay. Check-in was quick. Facility was busy during my stay but my room was located away from the action and very quiet. This will be my usual stay when I’m in Hilo.

I am very disappointed with my experience at Arnott’s Lodge. After checking out, I discovered that several of my personal cosmetic items were missing from my room. While I understand that hotels cannot always be responsible for every lost item, I expected a more professional and caring approach when reporting the incident. This experience has left me feeling disappointed and concerned about the security of guests’ personal belongings. I hope the management will improve its lost-and-found procedures and customer service to prevent similar situations from happening to future guests.
