東横INN京都琵琶湖大津 (Toyoko Inn Kyoto Biwako Otsu)

Toyoko Hotels are usually great. They are clean, convenient, and affordable, and they tend to have lots of useful amenities or people who might have forgotten to bring something like a toothbrush or razor. This particular hotel has a really convenient location that's a short walk from several train stations and from a couple of very charming and pleasant shopping arcades. Miidera (三井寺) and Lake Biwa (琵琶湖) are also manageable walks. Otsu is a lovely and underrated city, and this hotel is in a really nice part of the city.

Nice hotel, clean and well maintained. The beds are unfortunately very hard and uncomfortable making it hard to get a good night's sleep. The included breakfast is a nice touch but the breakfast area is not large enough to accommodate all guests making it very busy un the morning. You also almost can't sit at the bar stool area as a shelf under the table prevents from fitting in your legs. Overall ok but would look elsewhere next time.

Breakfast was good, however the layout of the tables and small size of the breakfast area caused some chaos.

Self checking in & out

You have to check in on a stupid screen. There is a small elevator for many floors. So don't be in a hurry. The breakfast was good
