Beautiful hotel with nice onsen facilities. I loved the kotatsu in the room.

The stay at Azuma-so was AMAZING! We enjoyed absolutely everything. The staff was lovely, the baths were very peaceful, the breakfast delicious and all the spaces in the hotel allowed for intense relaxation. Highly recommend getting a massage and taking the tour to visit Ginzan Onsen. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Great ryokan with lovely onsen. Water was very hot but relaxing. Half board banquet style meals were a lot of fun along with wearying the traditional Japanese clothing. Lots of selection and different kinds which was nice. Room was huge and the outdoor tub was lovely. Recommended for sure.

We really liked the staff - they were superb. When we checked in they served sweets and tea to us in our room. A coffee maker in the room would have been good.

Overall is good. They have pick up services. Breakfast and dinner were okay.

We stayed here for a night to continue our Journey from Akita to Tendo, Yamagata. As soon as we enter the parking lot, a staff came to provide assistance for parking and the bags. Excellent reception who used a translation device to make sure we understood everything. There were two hot spring faculties, the open air was interesting with the bath/shower area also outside. Water temperature was extremely hot. Room was very spacious and lovely dinner and breakfast. The owner appears to be a cat lover with many interesting display of cats figurines. And a really cute cat roaming around and friendly with people.
