Baloo Hostel is great, fantastic hostel and lovely staff. The beds are fine and facilities good. The area is not nice, with alot of drug use all over, and on the doorstep.

The staff was very helpful, in my last day they were also accommodating with my late checkout when I was still recovering from the marathon effort.
The outdoor patio and bar is cute, it adds a nice ambiance to the place even though I didn’t take advantage of it as my sleep and rest routine took precedence due to the race.
The kitchen / common area is very handy and comfy. Bonus points for the assortment of complimentary premium teas.
The area around it is not the prettiest, the streets feel a bit dirty, graffitis all over, but Athens can be like that in quite a few neighborhoods.

Great place to stay. Area at night is not the best. But with good planning you can stay away from those areas being ex forces it didn’t worry me a locals are very helpful and will help you if you ask

the hostel itself is great. the people running it are very friendly and will give you recommendations for the city. however, the area it’s located in is quite ugly and filled with people living in the street which as a solo traveler can be quite scary.
