TLDR : Go somewhere else BE AWARE : There is a night club across the street that is open to 5am. It is so loud that you can not get to sleep until after they close. This "hotel" has a motel layout for the rooms, so my room door opens up to the street. I can not stress how loud it was. The rooms themselves are clean but very tired. The A/C has little to no cooling power and has to battle the motel style layout with the sun beating down on the widow and door. There are two elevators that serve all 5 of the floors but only one works. (As of July '26) food options are a hotdog cart and a small Asian fusion place that misses the mark by a lot. Staff are friendly but cocktail serve at night is really slow, really really slow.

The hotel staff were very accommodating and very kind, and I would 100% recommend anyone wanting to stay at the El Cortez

Nice room and excellent location!

With your main restaurant being remodeled the restaurant that was doing breakfast was not a good choice. We ate at the Eureka and it was really nice. We had food from the other restaurant there in the hotel the Asian food and it was good but they did not do a good job on breakfast. The staff was very helpful. We enjoyed our time there. It was irritating that the one elevator was not working and has not worked for a while. We saw Michael on Wednesday night, which we planned to make it a point to see him. We really enjoy him. We do wish the children would turn off the screen behind where he performs and maybe write the El Cortez, Michael Nugent every Wednesday night the flashing football, and basketball and baseball behind him is very distracting. Will be back we love it at the El Cortez. It is our favorite. Looking forward to the main restaurant opening. The rooms are nice, clean, and the staff is extra kind.

This place is off of the Fremont strip so it's quiet. Also, it's historic and worth the stay. Stay in the original 47 and upgrade to the Bugsy room!

The main restaurant was closed, and the other options are not great. They have a hot dog stand and some kind of noodle place, but it would be nice to have a snack bar with more options and reasonable prices.

Everything was great!

Great hotel but the diner is currently closed so there is no full meal options at the hotel.
