Little away from Nagano city however, good shuttle from rail station was provided by the Hotel. Room provided was clean with great view of the mountains. Staff were helpful and professional. In-house laundry facility with washer & dryer availability was very helpful for guests. Breakfast spread was excellent with great choice of breads, fruits, all beverages, cheese, desserts etc. Lounge was very comfortable and provided beverages and snacks for all guests.

Very nice accommodations and very good value. The rooms are in need of a refresh, but extremely functional. Our only improvement would be the food variety. We stayed for one week, which is probably unusual for most guests so we tired of the same food day after day. There is great variety, but the same ever day. As an example, for fruit it's apple, banana and pineapples every breakfast varying with other fruits every other day would be a welcome change. Same with eggs, bread selections.

A large hotel with a ton of guests. Great hotel and great staff. Only feedback would be for the hotel to create more dinner and breakfast “start times” to avoid the massive rushes in the dining area that created a feeding frenzy with some disgruntled people. Seemed unlike most Japanese experiences.

Staff was amazing but compared to other Mercure hotels this one is very outdated (a lot of furniture was outside so they may be renovating) but wallpaper was peeling, there were marks on the walls and carpet where paintings/furniture used to be) and the beds we had were hard as rocks. As were the pillows. That said the staff and food were exceptional

I was greatly touched by the kindness I received from the front desk staff during my 2 night stays. I highly recommend this hotel to others.

Absolutely terrible I highly recommend not staying. Everything broken and old, destroyed furniture and walls, mold growing out of the vents, terrible water pressure, beds with broken springs, over crowded, no nearby restaurant options, terrible quality, extremely overpriced.

Hotel condition is terrible. I’ve stayed in old onsen hotels before that are way nicer - old doesn’t mean terrible condition, but this property was clearly neglected. Walls and carpets are destroyed everywhere, mosquitos / fruit flies inhabited the bathroom. I have tattoos so I must use shower, shower floods and did not drain properly, hot and cold interchange constantly, water pressure fails often. Why no private pools? Beds are old coil spring beds with destroyed coils, terrible sleep. Walls are paper thin, everything is heard outside the room. Rooms are excessively hot, hvac systems are not maintained, mold is present in ventilation everywhere. Black Mold is most noticeable in the lobby ventilation. Lobby offers a free snack / night cap before and after dinner, it’s a great service however the space is unimaginably too small for the guests using it and people are spread out into the all over the lobby. Snacks and drinks keep depleting faster than guests can enjoy. Children are everywhere, even during alcohol serving period. Breakfast and dinner periods must be reserved to stop overfilling, yet you still must wait in lines as dining is always over booked. Food served was nothing special, I think fewer items of higher quality would be better. Only 1 microwave for the whole hotel ??? Internet was terrible. Didn’t use onsen, cannot review. My family enjoyed the pools. I don’t recommend staying here unless for skiing. Feels like a budget ski hotel, over priced.
