The Z Hotel at Gloucester Place

The en-suite bathrooms are translucent glass boxes in the rooms, this is not obvious from the first photos on the listing, it’s not sight I’m worried about, it’s sound and smell! The door didn’t even stay shut. The room wasn’t ready when we arrived at 4pm even though it said check in was at 3 and they were ready to charge me an early check in fee when we arrived to drop bags earlier in the day! Our first room was at the front on the ground floor. There was no privacy, frosted glass or net curtains between you and the pavement. We had two cocktails from the bar, they were both terrible. The bar tender had been out the night before and hadn’t slept which he happily told the other people he served in the middle of making my cocktails. He then tried to charge me a service charge. The hotel is a number of buildings on Gloucester street, we went to 80 something first, were sent on to 51 where the main reception is, then onto 30 something, then had to come back to 51 to change rooms and then move all our stuff back to 51.

Great location, close to Baker Street Tube Station and great bus service. Hotel staff are fantastic, very accommodating and friendly. The All Inclusive package is a bargain. Will use again.

Rooms need decorating as looking a little tired

Great place to stay, only one complaint really. My husband is recovering from knee surgery, we kept thinking we had arrived at the hotel to be advised we were further down the road in one of six properties. It would be helpful to know where you are staying before arrival with a building number to save this issue. I found it frustrating. Also, be aware that the rooms are very small, ok for one night but wouldn’t have wanted a longer stay.

Well for 3 nights, 600£+ : -we were at the ground floor near the elevator (not ideal regarding noise) - the layout of this bedroom was nonsense and very male design… there was only one nightstand and absolute no night lamp near the bed! The lighting of this room was white… you know the hospital type of white light (even with a regular of intensity, this light is not suitable in a hotel room!) -the bathroom was surrounding by glass walls including the toilet …. - not even a box of tissues that we can find in a basic hotel….so ‘’make up’’ girl get yours or the toilets paper it will be… -the staff was very friendly and helpful. -the location is excellent (5min walk from Oxford Street…) -the air con during summer is a plus -the bathroom was clean

Very cute and clean. Different units are in different buildings. Great location close to Oxford rd. Breakfast was ok. Latte was so good!!

Rooms need a stumble light

This was a true delight in the center of London. A short walk to Baker Street station puts the entire city at your disposal. A slightly longer walk and you’re in the heart of the Oxford Street shopping district (nee Selfridges). Very clean, very nice people, and good value for money!

The room was so tiny and the shower was all damaged behind the glass. The bedding didn’t feel clean had a strange smell in the room and bedding. The air conditioning wouldn’t turn off so it was very cold. Didn’t get much sleep.
