The manager at night on my arrival was terrific. I had accidentally booked the room for the next night. She was able to book me in that night, though she didn't have to, and didn't charge me for two nights. It was wonderful to be treated so well after a long flight! The hotel had difficulty picking me up at 1:00 in the morning, so I had to take a (very expensive) taxi. On the way back, the hotel's shuttle to the airport was prompt and professional.

Good location. Several eating options to walk to. Close to airport Clean room. Comfy mattress and quality linen. Airport shuttle needs to be called for ahead of time so owner explains they only have a few minutes to wait at airport. Messages not returned from hotel .So booked taxi!!! Airport shuttle OK for drop off on check out.

Staff was excellent (kind, efficient, hospitable) and our sweet little room overlooking the sea was lovely. Very comfortable beds and linens. Clean and simple, and would absolutely stay again. Shuttle car took us promptly to the airport and helped with luggage. Would definitely recommend.

Rude host, fake shuttle, broken bathroom — avoid The airport shuttle advertised on this hotel’s profile does not exist in practice. Despite contacting the host repeatedly by phone, email, and WhatsApp before our arrival, we were left stranded at Keflavík Airport at 1 AM with five adults and a 2-year-old child. The promised message with the vehicle plate number never came, and the host stopped answering her phone entirely. We had to find our own taxi in the middle of the night — not straightforward with a toddler, as most cabs don’t carry child seats. When we finally arrived at the hotel, instead of an apology, the host was aggressive and defensive, blaming us for missing a shuttle that never actually came. She had apparently already told her side of the story to another guest, who also confronted us. The host’s excuse for not answering the phone: she had “too much to do.” The room itself had a clogged shower and a clogged sink. The next morning, I booked the shuttle to the airport for 9 AM — confirmed, then cancelled at the last minute for the same reason. Taxi again. Breakfast was poor. A deeply unpleasant experience from start to finish. Not recommended

The woman who greeted us on 30.4.26 was fabulous and warm, made for an easy check in and had great recommendations for food. The beds were comfortable, yet the walls are thin so heard some noises from neighboring rooms. Otherwise, great stay!

Great location close to the airport. **Take note their airport shuttle only runs once a day!**. Great view of the shoreline and easy, walkable area with many great restaurants. The kind lady at the desk gave me bus directions and restaurant recommendations. Clean and comfortable, highly recommend!!!!! Souvenir shop, Stapafell is right down the street (amazing owner is super kind), along with a grocery and a great steak at Olsen Olsen! Both are a must.

The staff was super friendly, even changing my room so I would have a better view in case the northern lights would make an appearance! I had to be up super early for a flight so in-room coffee makers would be my suggestion. Otherwise staff gave me a complimentary transfer back to the airport, what more could I ask for?!

The Keilir is a very nice family owned Hotel. It is clean, safe, has good heat and fist internet. The breakfast is simple but nice and food is fresh. I have stayed at just about every hotel in Keflavik and for my money Hotel Keilir is the best value. I've spent dozens of nights there and I always look forward to my stay.
