We stayed at several luxury hotels during our travels to Costa Rica and, while all were stunning, this one out-shown them all. We first learned of the place from The Reluctant Traveler and committed upon learning of their sustainability efforts.
Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and our room was beyond expectations. We loved that they have an adult-only section of the resort. The design of the grounds encourages exploration and we saw a wide variety of birds including toucans, Curassows and Crested Guans. When being escorted to dinner one night, the driver asked if we wanted to take a detour to look for frogs - of course! We loved it!
The location is ideal for other activities in the area. The coffee there was the best we had the entire vacation - which says a lot in a country that prides itself on its coffee. If we were to return, we would've stayed here longer.
