Great location with easy public transport links. Peaceful area. We arrived by ferry from Stockholm and hotel was only a short walk from terminal. We especially appreciated the complimentary dinner which consisted of soup with selection of breads followed by set main course and selection of salads. teas or coffee. We would not hesitate to use this hotel again.

We loved having breakfast, fika, and dinner provided as part of our room reservation. We were sorry we couldn't take advantage of all the amenities and would love to come back to this hotel again for a longer stay. Very convenient to everything in Helsinki with the tram right outside the front door.

What an amazing place to stay. A unique setting (being a converted prison) and close by to everything you need. It’s literally 5 minutes to the ferry to Estonia. Slightly longer than that and you’ve walked to the Ferris wheel, outdoor market, etc. The staff were amazingly helpful. They were informative, friendly, warm and welcoming. I loved my stay. 100% would stay again.

I loved this place, hotel is quirky and was a pleasure to stay here, staff were great and were always happy to help. Meals were good and a great chilled out atmosphere in the bistro area. Hotel was in a really nice relaxing district and so easy to hop on the tram outside the hotel to get into the city centre within 5 mins. I'd definitely stay here again, thank you for a great stay Home Hotel Katajanokka

Comfortable space and extremely close to the Viking terminal. Very interesting history that was reflected well in the renovation of the building. Good food. Would definitely return.

Great location. Quiet. Comfortable beds. Nice design in an old prison built in the 1800’s. The free food had gluten and lactose free options like sautéed vegetables, beans, eggs, sausages, salads, fruit. You can walk to many attractions but the tram stops right in front of the hotel. I bought the ABC ticket on Tram#4 for €4.8 and the same ticket worked on the train “I” all the way to the airport. Took about an hour but it was very relaxing and comfortable.

This has been the best hotel I've stayed (3rd week in May) at in the 10 years I've been traveling to Europe. From the immaculate room, the delicious breakfast & dinner selections, the helpful staff, & the convenient location, this hotel is beyond awesome! I've never stayed at a place like this before & I booked it 6 months before for its historical significance, but it has blown away. I only regret that I didn't stay longer! Every hotel should be like this! Thank you!!!
