Bene Furniture in room tired .
Location good .
Bathroom was a capsule bathroom ( like a caravan )
The room was basic . Beds comfy .
Furniture was damaged on the corners .
Really could go with an refurb.
Someone’s tags off clothing were under the bed 🤔.. so clearly the cleaners hadn’t done their job properly.
No sockets next to the beds .
Extension cable 🤔was there to use ( odd)
Wasn’t expecting much for a 3 star hotel and only booked as we were heading to a concert .
However paid over £400 for one night .
Not good enough .
Could have a weekend away to Spain for that price ..

Ottimo Room was basic & clean.Odd occasional clicks & creaky noises from shower area & air con.Some freshly cut melons &/pineapple/grapes would have enhanced the breakfast experience... especially if lacto vegetarian like myself.
Disappointed that there was no outside area seating/live music as per website as it was under renovation & we were not notified of this in advance/at the time of booking as this was one of the top 3 reasons for us to book this hotel

Bene The front desk staff were excellent. The closeness to the Royal Mile was good but many homeless people right outside the front of the hotel. Our room was clean but had a strong musty small the the bottom of the bathroom door had old water damage which may have contributed to the musty smell. Ate in the restaurant for dinner one night and it was not good. I ordered a Mediterranean salad with chicken. The chicken was over cooked and super dry that it was hard to chew. They dumped a whole carton of feta cheese on it which did not taste right. I ended up in the bathroom all night.

Bene First room we were allocated had not been made up after the 3pm arrival time. The beds were unmade and the whole room smelled strongly of garlic. We had to go back down to reception were they eventually found us another room which was acceptable. The carpets in the corridors were extremely worn and looked quite dirty. The ensuite in our room had obviously flooded at some point and the bottom of the door was swollen. Breakfast was ok but the room needed updating. One favourable point was it was very quiet with no noise from street or other guests and in a handy location for the royal mile. Definitely not worth £240 per night.

Fantastico The staff was very kind and helpful. I only stayed for one night, but it was a very convenient location to see the historic sites and a very short walk from the train station.
