Overall, we had a good stay at Hilton Hawaiian Village, but there are several areas that could be improved.
The staff were kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. The location is excellent,centrally located with plenty of restaurants, shops, and convenience stores on-site and within walking distance, making it easy to explore Waikiki.
Unfortunately, the rooms felt outdated for the price. We also noticed a urine smell in the corner of our room near the closet that never fully went away.
For a resort of this size, there should be another fitness center. The current gym gets crowded, and there weren’t nearly enough pool chairs and no umbrellas to accommodate guests.
I also don’t think resort guests should have to pay extra to rent beach or lagoon chairs and umbrellas after already paying resort fees. It was also disappointing that the beach is open to the public rather than offering a more exclusive experience for resort guests.
Overall, while the location and friendly staff were highlights, I expected more from a resort at this price point. The accommodations and amenities need updating to better match the cost and reputation of the property.
