Based on the Hilton brand and the price of my stay, I expected a more upscale experience than what I received.
The rooms themselves felt dated and did not reflect the elevated experience I expected from a Hilton oceanfront resort.
As it relates to fees:
A $25 daily resort fee was an unexpected additional fee.
Parking is also an additional cost, $35/day and it’s across the street. valet is $50.00; however, the service from the valet attendants were exceptional.
Solicitors also stuck flyers under my hotel door on more than one occasion which made me feel unsafe as a single traveller.
What was most frustrating was reviewing my final bill and realizing how much the overall cost of the stay had increased due to valet parking, taxes, and additional fees. While I understand that taxes are unavoidable, the combination of these extra charges significantly increased the total amount I paid compared to what I initially budgeted for when booking. Had I known the true all-in cost upfront, I likely would have chosen another property that offered a more complete package and accommodations that better matched the price point.
