We stayed at Homewood Suites over the Fourth of July holiday. While the location is excellent, just steps from the River Walk and many downtown attractions, there were a few disappointments.
The biggest issue was that there are no restrooms near the rooftop pool, which made using the pool inconvenient. We ended up spending an extra $60 on a ResortPass at the neighboring Westin just to enjoy better pool amenities. The complimentary breakfast was mediocre, and we didn’t find the staff to be particularly friendly or welcoming.
On the positive side, the rooms were spacious, the air conditioning worked exceptionally well during the Texas heat, and the hotel’s central location made it easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and the River Walk.
Overall, it’s a decent place to stay if location and room size are your priorities, but there is definitely room for improvement in the amenities, breakfast, and customer service.
