On arrival, the staff weren't very welcoming, and due to the language barrier we had to use a translator app before communication became easier. There were complimentary tea and drinks in the lobby, but this wasn't mentioned at check-in. After our long flight, I had to ask if they were free before helping myself. Once we were able to communicate, the staff, especially Uncle Manting, were helpful when needed.
The room was basic and smaller than it appeared in the online photos. The frosted glass bathroom wall offered very little privacy when travelling with someone other than your partner.
Breakfast had a good variety of mainly Asian and vegetarian dishes, although many of the hot options were quite oily.
We appreciated the complimentary herbal foot-soak tea bags and wooden foot tubs in the room, which were a lovely touch after a long day.
The location was convenient, close to District 1, with easy taxi access to the other districts.
Overall, it was an average stay for the price
