This was a great option and good value!
THE PROS:
1: The staff was absolutely top tier - friendly, going out their way to help, and spoke good English.
2: Room was clean and functional. Tatami beds were comfortable. The bathroom is tiny but fully functional with good water pressure and temperature.
3: Amenities were good given the limited space and resources. Onsen, massage chairs, water/drink station, sitting/business room.
ALSO - The optional Japanese breakfast was good and convenient. Highly recommend it if you want a variety of tastes to start your day.
CONS:
1: Updated older building. While it is nice, it is a little short on door and bathroom ceiling heights. (6' and 7')
2: Bathroom is small. Older rokutans did not necessarily have showers. There may have been converted to be a full bath with tub/shower but then the sink is a bit tiny and it's a prefab plastic construction to fit. It's clean and they provide wash and shampoo. So they do a great job with upscaling what they have to work with.
All in all, me and my family were pleased and feel it was a great value. Would definitely stay again.
Extra thank you to the lady receptionist who help reschedule our bus/train ride back to Tokyo - she was amazing and went above and beyond her job to help us. It reflected very well on the hotel and it's staff.
