Perfectly pleasant, clean rooms, restaurants and coffee shops within easy walking distance. For the price (by Monterey standards), it’s good. A bit of road noise. Was going to charge me an early check in fee but there wasn’t a room available. Should knock it off with that low-class nickel and diming.

This is a very clean, affordable hotel. With high gas and travel prices, we were happy to select modest lodging.

I stayed here overnight for a Spartan Race and it was exactly what I needed. The location was central to everything, which made getting around super easy. The beds were nice and soft, and the shower had great water pressure with plenty of hot water. Parking was also very convenient. Overall, a comfortable and hassle‑free stay.

Positives: Seems the building was recently painted and looked nice. Beds were soft, which I like. Bathroom seemed like something you'd normally see in someone's home, not a hotel... appreciated that.
Negatives: The parking spaces were a little tight, but it seemed like there were enough for the number of rooms available. We could hear the upstairs neighbor a bit, but it was never booming.
Overall, we really liked this hotel and even recommended it to family members.

Decent on-site parking, comfortable beds, well-maintained and clean for the most part. About a 20 min walk to the wharf.
However, there were a few issues. We were in a corner room, which unfortunately for us meant no real window other than the frosted glass over the beds, so yes we had natural light, but it was a bit disconcerting not to have a view to the outside. Additionally, the room was VERY small. And finally, the one chair we had was badly stained, such that we did not want to actually sit on it. So our only option was to sit on the beds. Our experience did not match expectations from the pictures included in the listing.
Bottom line, it’s functionally adequate, but we would not stay here again.

A small vintage motel on a busy street just at the edge of old Monterey, but very clean, comfortable and well maintained rooms. The weather was too brisk to enjoy the outdoor amenities, but the fire pit and patio set up was charming. There was coffee and tea, but no breakfast.
