Departing from Gold Coast Airport, our initial climb will take you south tracking to the Beautiful Tweed River and Ukerabah Island, here take in the amazing views south down to Byron Bay and north along the beautiful Sun-kissed Gold Coast beaches to Surfers Paradise. Track out over to Cook Island aquatic reserve, a protected marine park discovered by “Captain James Cook” a famous English navigator in 1770, who named the Island “Cook Island” after nearly being ship wrecked in the area.
This marine park is home to a vast array or marine animals such as Dolphins, turtles, sharks and even whales during whale season. Make sure you have your camera ready!
We will descend at Fingal Headland, rush North along the magnificent beaches, watching the local surfers at the famous Snapper Rocks, home of the “Quick Silver Pro” surfing contest and Kirra Beach.
From Kirra Beach we continue our jurney along the beach flying coastal all the way to Burleigh Heads, you will rush along Currumbin Alley, Palm Beach and Tallebudgera Beaches.
The Surfers Skyline in the distance is a great sight with it’s many highrise buildings, the most prominent being the Q1 standing 1000 feet tall. At Burleigh Headland we will bank the helicopter for our return back to Coolangatta. Looking into the distance to see Mount Warning standing proud in the Tweed Valley, having just overflown the reminents of its eruption some 300 million years ago with the black “Lava Rocks” that peppered the Burleigh Headland
