You can deeply experience the charm of Ainu culture by watching performances of ancient Ainu dances, experiencing traditional skills, tasting food culture, and participating in activities such as making traditional handicrafts. This is the first national museum in Hokkaido, dedicated to displaying the history and culture of the Ainu people. The exhibition is divided into a basic exhibition room narrated from the perspective of the Ainu people and a special exhibition room for visitors to visit. In addition to the exhibition room, the museum also has a theater showing films. In addition, the museum shop also offers a variety of handicrafts and original goods for visitors to purchase.
Lunch is free and you can choose from four restaurants. There are Ainu cuisine and desserts produced in the province, as well as a museum shop selling special souvenirs of Ainu culture!

Non c'era molto tempo a disposizione per esplorare l'intera struttura e la "guida" assegnataci parlava solo giapponese. L'autista e la persona di riferimento ci hanno solo accompagnato da e per la zona; è più un tour autoguidato. Tuttavia, l'esperienza è stata memorabile e la visita a questo posto è valsa la pena.
Questa non è una visita guidata, ci siamo incontrati con la persona responsabile al punto di ritrovo e siamo stati portati all'autobus diretto a Upopoy. Il viaggio in autobus è durato 1 ora, i sedili erano piuttosto stretti perché è stato schierato un piccolo furgone probabilmente a causa dei pochi partecipanti, eravamo gli unici partecipanti stranieri insieme a circa 6 anziane signore giapponesi. All'arrivo, un'altra persona responsabile ci ha rilasciato il biglietto e ci ha fatto una semplice spiegazione in giapponese che non siamo riusciti a capire per niente. Da questo punto in poi è stato gratuito e facile. C'erano alcune esibizioni disponibili con audioguida in inglese. Le mostre e i workshop sono tutti in giapponese. Il 90% degli oggetti del museo sono presentati con una spiegazione in inglese, il che è stato davvero abbastanza buono per noi. Abbiamo potuto provare gratuitamente semplici costumi ainu e ci siamo fatti scattare una foto da uno staff disponibile e amichevole. I workshop come ricamo e intaglio del legno sono disponibili a un costo di 1000 yen, anche se è conveniente ma richiede 60 minuti, a quel punto non rimane molto tempo per esplorare il museo. Il paesaggio è bellissimo, avremmo voluto rimanere lì per più di 4 ore. Non so se è perché ci siamo andati la mattina presto, non c'erano molti visitatori. Questa è davvero una gemma nascosta, perché non è stata inquinata da XHS e dal suo utente (se capisci cosa intendo)
Si trattava di un bus navetta con una guida di lingua inglese per spiegare la disposizione del centro culturale Ainu e poi del tempo libero (circa 4 ore) per guardarci intorno, vedere spettacoli dal vivo e mangiare. L'ho trovato molto interessante, ma sono anche interessato alla cultura nativa.
