Nice views from the breakfast area, breakfast included and quite good. Rooms are basic but clean. I was a little annoyed that we were charged NZ$15 for parking per night given the hotel is out of town and not easily accessible without a car, limiting alternative options. In also think bath robes and slippers should be provided by the hotel given they have an outdoor spa and pool, with we couldn’t use as we weren’t prepared for that. Otherwise, staff are helpful and friendly.

The view from our room was to die for. The hotel is elevated and so even though it’s only about a kilometre or two into town, it’s a bit of a trek down a steep icy road to get to the lake. The room said it had 2 double beds but they were actually 2 queen beds which was a nice surprise. The big let down about this restaurant were the breakfasts. As there are no cafes nearby, we thought we would eat at the hotel buffet for brekkie. Again, the views were to die for. Everything else was pretty poor. Every time we went to the buffet something was empty. There were no cups to get coffee and no glasses to get cold drinks. We mentioned something to the front desk and were told it was hard to get good staff. Actually, the staff were working non-stop, almost running to do everything that needed to be done. However, there was only one person on the floor and one person at check-in. We said we would give it a go the next day, but unfortunately it was even worse. The issue seems to be understaffing, not the staff themselves. Spending about $175 on breakfast over 2 days, we were sorely disappointed. I also mentioned on checkout that we had had a lovely stay but were sorely disappointed in the breakfasts. The lady just said, ok!

Great service great staff

Stunning views, beautiful location although a bit out of town, easy quick drive though. Slow wifi although better if you’re in reception. No smart tv or streaming which was rough with the kids as theois no abc kids or kids channel. Hotel is a bit dated.

Breakfast was great. The restaurants were well managed and set-up. The food was excellent.
