For context, we stayed at this hotel as part of our honeymoon in Portugal. The positives are obvious when you look at pictures of the property. There is a stellar beach with a private area within a 2-minute walk from the hotel, the property's design is very nice, and the Algarve is beautiful no matter where you go. The reality is this hotel is designed for families with kids. If you are looking for a family vacation, this is a great hotel choice for you. There was an absurd amount of kids everywhere, and they definitely cater to that crowd. The pools, the kids club, even the restaurants are designed to keep kids and families entertained and happy. It felt more like a summer camp than a luxury hotel. And the price is definitely more like a luxury hotel. I don't feel like you get what you pay for at this hotel.
The staff was not very helpful or especially friendly at any of the restaurants or facilities. The food at the restaurants was mediocre but priced at a premium. The property is nice with a great location, but its definitly showing its age in many places.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel for the design, convenience, and wonderful beach. But I do not feel like it is worth the price due to the food, service, and summer camp vibes.
