This is my 4th stay at Montigo. I think the property has aged a lot since my last stay. I will likely not return anymore. First, the property is poorly maintained. We stayed at the 5 bedroom villa. One of the rooms smell of mold and mildew. One corner of the bedroom has black spots on the ceiling that looks like mold but we can’t verify or confirm if it is. Broken tiles in the pool that makes it unsafe for young kids. The villa is also not cleaned properly. Floor is dusty with dirt spots. Towels are so old and washed that it’s grey rather than white. Service has gone down too. Buggy takes a long time to come compared to before. Some times we have to wait 20-30 min during busy hours. I think some upgrading and maintenance are needed to refresh the resort. Breakfast was average but we really enjoyed the food at Warung and Pantai. Food at Pantai was really good and staff there was great. It was easy to get Grab from the lobby to go into the city. Hotel WiFi blocks Grab app so you will need to use data roaming. Spa is good and I used it on every trip. It’s more expensive than what you get in the city but worth the money. I used to recommend Montigo to my friends. But after this recent experience, I will not return and will try out other hotels in the area.

One of the toilet had a stench from the drainage. Room had musty smell. Furnishing also looks dated with bubbling paint jobs and coarse finishing. Sliding doors are super heavy, creaky and extremely hard to slide. Doesn't close tight as well. Room floors dirty, not cleaned thoroughly before next guest move in despite having 4 hrs of gap in the btw guests. Breakfast venue is not air-conditioned. Can feel sticky and warm when the crowd gets busy in the morning. Overall, this is one of the lousier villa I've stayed compare to those in Thailand. The average standard of service is generally lower than in Thailand in my opinion. They give you lots of redundant space but poor up keeping. Mosquito inside rooms despite having no open windows

Montigo resort has a clean, quiet and serene environment. Nice place to relax and enjoy the many activities it offers for all ages. The staff are polite, patience and helpful. Staff service is tip top. We’ll definitely visit again after our first experience.

From arrival at Nongsapura Ferry terminal , till you return, everything is seamless. Staff are super helpful and approachable. It was easy to book massage and lunch/dinner reservations. Booking the bugee, ordering in room dining all seamless through Whatsapp. We encountered an issue on our 2nd day where we couldn’t enter room ( card/ lock issue). Thank you to the team it was resolved in 20mins. Only feedback would be to improve/ maintain room etc better. As some of the furniture looks a little worn out, but very basic stuff. Excellent stay. There isn’t anything much/ restaurants etc outside near the resort. So if you stay here, it’s super relaxing cause there’s no need to travel out.
