Our experience was terrible because we didn’t know that nobody was on the lobby and we spend more that 4 hours to check-in because we didn’t know was only on line and we didn’t have internet, our son fix the problem from NY. When finally when in looks like we were the only ones inside. My husband is 70 and my self 67 and we didn’t know that was only stairs to go to the room and we were in the third floor. We planned everything to be a beautiful experience and the hotel bring our expectations down. Everything was old and dirty. Our trip was stressful and scary.

The pictures painted a little bit different picture than we experienced. The room was clean, but run down furniture and the light switch next to the bed was being held by tape, the couch was in rough shape. The worst part though was the bathroom. The shower had mold all over it including the pull string was nearly black from moisture. It was very off puttingnd felt like I could not take a shower there. The check in was also frustrating because no one was there (as was explained ahead of time so we knew that) but it was pouring rain and they said we could not check in before paying the city tax which I had the day before….we spent a fair amount of time waiting for the door to be unopened while they checked on that. Other than that, it could be a cool place. The pictures were misleading.

Actually, may 2 night stay was paid in full and when I arrived there was nobody there. I tried reaching out to them using Hotels.com, as well as through WhatsApp, and I left a voice message. To this day, I’ve not had a single message back from them. I need a complete refund. I’ve never had this experience in all my years of travel.

After overcoming some miscommunication on getting into our room, we ended up having a very good experience for three days in Assisi. The well located room at Santa Chiara contributed much to our getting around and enjoying our visit to that amazing Italian town in the Umbrian Hills That said they could upgrade the product they provide with the continental breakfast. Francesco and Lucia made us feel well at home there and helped us significantly. And our last night at their restaurant resulted in an Italian party that we will remember as one of the best ever in all the travels we’ve undertaken.

Very friendly staff. Location was great with easy access to all the sites, restaurants and coffee. Breakfast was located in another building and it was easy to find.
