Highlights

Lanterns

Larger-than-life lantern sets will illuminate Gardens by the Bay from 8 to 17 Feb 2024. Come experience the mystical charm of these luminescent works of art nestled within the alluring flora and fauna of Gardens by the Bay.

This year’s centerpiece – the “Prosperous Year of the Dragon” features a 140-metre long Dragon and an 18-metre tall God of Fortune. Don’t miss the dazzling firecrackers show happening here on selected evenings that comprises of firecrackers as long as 18 meters in length.

Catch a glimpse of the longest lantern set – “Bountiful Returns”. Its design, inspired by the Singapore River, is extra meaningful as the iconic location marks the early days of River Hongbao where it first started as a community event for all Singaporeans. The 20-metre long lantern set is sited at the Dragonfly Lake near the Bayfront MRT exit.

Nightly Stage Performances

Enjoy the nightly performances brought to you from the main stage. There’s an exciting line-up that awaits; from dance and musical performances by Chinese cultural groups. After a three-year hiatus, the overseas cultural performances will be making a comeback in 2024 to meet the fans once again.

The Singapore Talent Night brings together an array of traditional and modern performances by Mediacorp artistes and various local cultural groups. The line-up includes song and dance, traditional folk song duets, as well as percussion performances.

The performances will be live-streamed every night on River Hongbao’s official Facebook page – @riverhongbaosg.

Food Street

Feeling peckish? Treat yourself to the range of culinary delights from the food street at a convenient spot within Gardens by the Bay. You can find an array of street food encompassing a wide range of flavours from Singapore, China, and the rest of Asia.

From Push Carts to Online Carts: Chinese New Year Markets through Times

Curated by the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall, this exhibition showcases the historical development of Chinese New Year markets in Singapore since the 1950s. It features interactive elements and installations that enable visitors to immerse themselves in the lively and festive ambience of Chinese New Year markets in the past. Through the exhibition, visitors can understand the way of life, values, and traditions of the Chinese community in Singapore.
