Honestly the highlight of our entire trip. One night and it exceeded every single expectation we had. The kaiseki dinner was absolutely brilliant. The in-room private onsen facing the lake was just incredible. And the staff were something else, so kind, so attentive, so genuinely invested in making sure we had the best time. One night was nowhere near enough but they made every moment of it count. 100% recommended. Do not even think twice about it.

We truly appreciated the excellent service and attention to detail. We would absolutely stay here again when we plan to hike on Mt. Fuji and have highly recommended this hotel to our friends visiting in Kawaguchiko.

We absolutely loved our stay at Kasuitei Ooya. The whole vibe and decor of the ryokan (room and building overall) was very calming and captivating. The breakfast and dinner provided was phenomenal and everything we ate was fresh. The beds were tad bit less comfy then what we have previously experienced with japanese futons but rest assured, they are still very comfortable to sleep on. The staff were all super friendly,helpful and very accomodating to our needs. We are very greatful for this experience and would certainly stay here again if given the opportunity.

Amazing place to stay I can’t wait to come back. Nothing negative even if I tried to think of it. As soon as I arrived the staff were so accommodating and helpful showing me my room and explaining amenities. I had a supper in my room and they explain everything provided. The included breakfast was delicious. The private room onsen and private baths also incredible. It was so clean. The dress robes and pajamas provided also so lovely. Spacious room. Great view of the lake and view or Mt Fuji from a public balcony. As a solo female travelling I felt very safe here. They also pick you up and drop you off at the bus loop! You won’t regret coming here!

We booked one night stay. It was excellent stay very authentic room and onsen was so relaxing and everything close by. Definitely recommend for everyone one. And staff very polite and helpful.

Traditional Japanese style hotel in a great location on the lakeside. Room (after we changed) was spacious but very outdated in terms of technology. No USB sockets, very old TVs (not that we used them). We would have been fine with all of this, but the service and attitude of the staff (mainly the men) at the front desk was disrespectful. In general, we felt uncomfortable that for every request for a service like the onsen or massage we were required to pay in advance as if we were a pair of thieves.
