Good

Overall pretty great, but definitely a few negatives. Cleanliness was not 100%, by a long shot. Room was incredibly hot, oh so unbearably hot. We opened the sliding door as it was cool outside, but then flooded our room with bugs (100's of them). Room was close to the "lake", aka still water pond. Hence all of the bugs. If you are going to book this hotel, definitely book away from the pond or do not come in the hotter summer months. Staff were awesome, exceptionally amazing.

As I have an immune disorder which means there are certain foods I can't eat I am always cautious when staying at a place for the first time, I have to say I had no reason to be as the staff were very reassuring and helpful, pointing out any possible triggers and reassuring me that what I eat was safe The room was clean as in hoovering, dusting and cleaning the bathroom but there were a couple of issues like skirting boards could do with a clean along with the windows in fact when the sun was on a certain angle you could see where someone had doodled on the window, nothing rude btw :-)

I'm not massively impressed by this hotel. I picked it out because of the main shot of the front that you'll likely see over any promo material. And that's awesome, but you're not staying there really. I mean there are the courtyard facing rooms and I would recommend these if you want the full experience, but the rest of the rooms are in some new wings far from the courtyard that feel very dated and 90s ish. We were 'upgraded' for free to the little 'village' next to the car park - again, felt like it was built in the 90s and is starting to rot a bit. We went during a heat wave and the sheer heat in those village houses was beyond tolerable. I asked to switch rooms to what would have been a much cheaper room which was probably 4 or 5 degrees cooler. Zero air con in ANY room. Hottest night's sleep of my life. Slept under a wet towel and got about 4 hours of sleep. If you get dinner there, you're kinda getting the full country club dinner experience - semi posh men watching footy round the bar. Something I didn't fully expect when looking at the nice manor-house-with-church promise in the photos. Pool facilities were just crappy, dated, 90s. Cold pool full of screaming children, bland everything. Won't go again.

Extremely warm rooms. Uncomfortable needing to check out a day early

A lovely setting, it just looked tired in certain areas. It was unfortunate that we had a non-refundable rate and the hotel closed the golf course (the main reason for staying) because of the heat. The hotel would not agree to change the date, so the trip became a bit of a non event

This was a quick over night stay on route. I stayed here over 20 years ago and must say the bedrooms are now looking a bit dated. It was a heat wave and there is no air con and no fans were in the room or available from reception. Fast food from the bar was okay but hotel prices for food and drink. If not playing golf you can get better.

The exterior of the building is wonderful along with the grounds. The interior however is extremely run down and our first room We were given smelt damp and had to be moved to a better room but still then extremely basic and cleaning standard not great. Not helped also by the fact they only offer housekeeping every 3 days. Hotel with huge potential but not being looked after and requires urgent attention would not recommend anyone to stay there

I had intentionally booked a deluxe twin room with two appear to be queen size beds on arrival there was no room available with this specification so we had a normal room where the Double bled had to be split into pasty just two singles not exactly what I’ve ordered is considered nice a lot of MARRIOT by the hotels website a lot of the time rather disappointed unfortunately

Was a lovely place to stay the only downfall I had was I payed twice once online when I booked and when I got to check in I got charged again, lucky I checked otherwise I wouldn’t of noticed
