Great hotel - first class location, fantastic food and drinks, funky comfortable and characterful room. But the best thing was the staff - friendly, helpful, unobtrusive but always ready interact.

The hotel was a total surprise. It was a boutique, antique hotel. Rooms were spacious, the beds were great, well furnished, perfect location and had a marvellous bar. The bathroom was huge and had a massive bath tub. The only issue was with the bathroom door was slightly off hinge. Reported to reception and was fixed immediately. Will go again. Highly recommended.

Hotel in good location to access the city. Bar staff were good. Reception access fell shorter than any hotel we have ever stayed in and needs to be addressed at a leadership level. Waited 15 minutes despite ringing the bell at the desk. We did arrive earlier than check in time in hope to drop off our bags. During this time the internal phone system rang continually and remained unanswered, during our 30 mins wait until room was ready. On almost all occasions when we returned to the hotel there was no one on reception. During our breakfast this morning, 4 different guests came into the bar area asking the bar staff for someone to come to reception to be able to check out which meant she was taking off her role within the bar. Our experience was the same needing to ask the bar staff to find someone to check out. When asked how was our stay I said it was just ok and the fallen short with reception staff. Customer service at reception for me is your first impression of a hotel. I doubt that we will return due to this poor level of service.

Clean, great location to food and shopping. The staff were very nice and we enjoyed the free WiFi. Restaurant on premises made an excellent breakfast (not complimentary) but service was slow. The air conditioning in our room did not function on two hot days. The street below was a little noisy when trying to sleep with all windows open. Will not book again.

Place was great. Funny thing: very hard to figure out how to control the lighting. A bit overthought.

When we arrived they informed us there was a problem with the a/c in the room, the first night the room was freezing. When we mentioned it the receptionist said she would remedy it for that night . Unfortunately the room temperature was above 25 degrees . We again mentioned it the next morning and that evening the room was freezing again . It is not what I would have expected from a hotel of this standard

Close to the train station and museum. 15min walk to Royal miles. Very good and big breakfast. Comfortable bed and bathroom.0

Great location, pleasant staff

I traveled to Edinburgh to visit family. This hotel is centrally located yet quiet from the noise of Princes Street. The room was amazing and the staff was always helpful. Will definitely return on my next visit!

The location
