Basic, clean accommodation, a 13 minute drive from Waitimo caves, but in Te Kuiti so close to restaurants and shops. One cafe is right opposite the accommodation.

The owners of this motel have worked it out and this is a great stopover.
Easy to find( on the main road), easy check-in, warm room, super clean, and great bed and pillows.

The room was clean and comfortable with a microwave, refrigerator, some dishes, and plenty of space. It isn’t fancy, but was a nice place to stay a couple of nights in the Waitomo area.

Quaint cottage style rooms that looks like it’s from the 60s or 70s. Rooms come with a kitchenette, cutlery, plates, and fridge. Bathroom shower is literally just a walled off portion of the room without a door or even shower curtains. No towel rack next to the shower so I draped my towel over the back of chair I dragged into the bathroom. No power outlets next to the bed, one of the bedside night light quartz bulbs was burnt out. Large Samsung SMART TV was a saving grace. Wi-Fi was adequate but bogged down at times.

Fantasztikus Nice place to stay near caves with a small downtown area. Motel is near the train tracks but really didn’t bother us

Convenient for local attractions, and local eating spots. Unit was dated, but comfortable for a night's stay. Shower floor was a bit slippery with soapy water underfoot. Nice toiletries were provided.

Arrived early and room wasn’t ready. Had to rush back after seeing sites before reception closed for night. No dining options of interest around.

When you drive up to the lodge, you think "What did I book myself into?" But once you get inside everything is fine. The AC definitely works, and the room has everything you need. A train does run behind the motel, but doesn't go often and doesn't sound it's whistle. The shower was a bit basic but it worked. You have to drive downtown to find a restaurant.
